AYR Motor Centre Aquatic Facility: Lifeguard -
Instructor
Job Type: Full time
Permanent - Unionized, CUPE Local 719
Location: AYR Motor Centre Aquatic
Facility, 105 Connell Park Road, Woodstock,
NB
Hours: Monday-Friday, 35- 40 hours per week
- a rotation of weekend coverage may be required based on staffing
compliments and programming/operational
needs
Wage: $21.77 / hour (based
on required certifications)
JOB
SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Recreation Manager and duties
include, but are not limited to the following: assist with planning
and organizing day-time pool activities and programs in
consultation with the Recreation Coordinator; instruct swimming
lessons and lead aquatic programs; help with private and school
lessons; ensure proper maintenance/cleanliness of the pool; adhere
to all safety and cleaning protocols for the aquatic facility, in
accordance with departmental guidelines; help maintain and organize
files and record keeping; support Recreation team with other
departmental programs and services based on operational
demands/needs.
KEY SKILLS & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Leadership skills to mentor student team members and assist
with scheduling questions or changes
- Program coordination and completion of required
documentation
- Ability to deal with concerns and feedback from the public in a
professional and courteous manner
- Instructing groups of various ages and skill levels
- Lifeguarding and teaching

Required Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- National Lifeguard
- Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Lifesaving Examiner or willing to complete training
- National Lifeguard Instructor or willing to complete
training
- Babysitting Course Instructor or willing to complete
training
